Electricity consumption version 0.2
18/03/2017

Great, it's the weekend! A bit of geek relaxation, it feels good...

Sensor improvements

Version 1:

The version 1 uses a Raspberry Pi 1, a connection with terminals, 10 kΩ pull-up resistances, a counter at 1000 imp./kWh. We note that everything does not fit in the frame of the objective so much it is cumbersome. We will hide the details, they are not worth being shown.

Version 2:

The version 2 has a much better WAF. It uses a Raspberry Pi zero, a connection without terminal or pull-up, a counter at 2000 imp./kWh. The interior is much more elegant.

Processing improvements

Technically, the most important is the passage to 2 impulses per Watt-hour: twice as precise and twice as reactive, especially for "low" consumptions.

For the trouble, we pass for the reading of the impulses from Python to C (invisible to the naked eye) and we improve the UX, much more visible:

The fact that the consumption has passed from 179 to 247 W is unexpected. It's just that there is a laptop charging in addition at the time of the screenshot ; ah yes, 68 W to charge the laptop.
