Hence the idea of implementing a prior reservation.
But how to collect reliable intentions of presence for a free concert ?
The retained solution was to transmit a reservation code by SMS.
And to control the entries (and the filling limit) with the codes presented by the people at the entrance.
Assessment
44 of the 48 possible places were reserved in 4 days only. Then the site presenting the concert displayed "Complete !". The remaining 4 places were set aside and used to welcome spectators who had not reserved a place.
Among the 22 mobile phone numbers entered for these reservations, 4 were erroneous and therefore did not receive a code by SMS.
Out of the 18 SMS codes sent, 3 were not confirmed ; at least for them, it was manifestly a number entry error since a reservation request was confirmed afterwards with a almost identical number (1 single different digit).
It was possible to reserve 1 to 4 places per mobile phone number. A group of 12 people used 3 mobiles to reserve their places.
No one presented with an unconfirmed code.
Unfortunately, it was necessary to refuse people for this concert but the idea of collecting a commitment for a free entry by asking for a mobile phone number was therefore validated by this experience.
And, by the way, the concert had a lot of success!
